Registry Team Leader

As we expand our range of undergraduate programmes, we are looking to recruit a Registry Team Leader to assist in managing student records across a range of programmes, including business, marketing, computing, finance and accounting, and health and social care. We are seeking an experienced administrator and applicants with experience in higher education administration and/or student records systems will be prioritised. You will work as part of a team to provide a high quality, efficient service in the administration and management of the UGM Manchester’s programmes. The post holder will have responsibility for administration of the full student lifecycle for including processing results, progression board decisions and producing performance reports.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, have an eye for detail and be capable of working in a high-tempo, agile environment. You should be able to manage a varied workload efficiently and deal with operational issues independently. You should have excellent written communication skills, be articulate, and qualified to degree level. UGM Manchester is a student-centred Higher Education provider in the heart of Manchester, with a focus on high quality teaching and assessment, and an inclusive, business-like culture. As we expand our range of undergraduate programmes, we are looking to recruit a Deputy Head of Education to assist in maintaining the quality of educational delivery across a range of programmes, including business, marketing, computing, finance and accounting, and health and social care.

We are seeking an experienced academic with a proven track-record of successful module and programme leadership looking to take their next step in academic management. As Deputy Head of Education, the successful candidate will be responsible for helping to line-manage our 50+ strong academic team, quality assure our learning and teaching resources and assessment strategy, and problem-solve any day-to-day operational frictions.

The Deputy Head of Education will also be responsible for overseeing our non-standard provision and will be on duty on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during term-time, for which they will receive a day-off in lieu. The Deputy Head of Education will also take part in the Saturday management roster alongside Programme Leaders, the Head of Education, and the Dean. Again, days-off in lieu will be granted when required to work on a Saturday.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, reliable, proactive, calm under pressure, and have an eye for detail. They will have a broad understanding of pedagogy and andragogy and be capable of working in a high-tempo, agile environment.

Salaries are competitive and based on candidates' qualifications, experience, and utility. Fellowship of the HEA or an undertaking to achieving this will be an advantage. You will be articulate, and qualified to Masters level. Professional status/accreditation will also be an advantage. We operate three trimesters per academic year. Learning Resources Centre Officer

Post: Learning Resources Centre Officer

Hours: Full-time, permanent

Salary: £24,000

Location: Manchester

UGM Manchester is a student-centred Higher Education provider in the heart of Manchester, with a focus on high quality teaching and assessment, and an inclusive, business-like culture. As our campus grows, we are looking to employ a Learning Resources Centre (LRC) officer as part of our expanding support team.

The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours per week, generally during standard timings, Monday – Friday. However, during term-time, the candidate will assist with staffing our iCentre on some Tuesday and Thursday evenings until 2100, and all day on some Saturdays between 0900-1730. When there is a requirement to work evenings and Saturdays, time-off-in-lieu during the week will be granted.

The successful candidate will have a student-facing role and will be required to support students with a range of enquiries relating to learning resources and IT. Therefore, the candidate should be highly professional, patient, with excellent oral communication skills. They will be digitally literate and competent in the full range of Microsoft office applications.

The successful candidate will also assist with the maintenance of our physical library and any other learning resources as required. On occasion, the successful candidate will be required to support our reception staff at the iCentre with general administrative tasks, and will support all university events such as graduation and top achiever awards. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and supporting academic staff with all learning resource issues.

Our ideal candidate will be well-presented, professional, diligent, digitally literate, and able to work independently, although on-the-job training and mentoring will be provided. Candidates must have an unrestricted right to live and work in the United Kingdom without caveat. This role is subject to a Criminal Record Bureau check.

UGM Manchester is a student-centred Higher Education provider in the heart of Manchester, with a focus on high quality teaching and assessment, and an inclusive, business-like culture. It delivers undergraduate and postgraduate courses using intensive and innovative teaching methodologies to a diverse body of students.

 

We are looking for individuals who are well presented, highly organised, and with exceptional interpersonal skills to work in our Professional Services team. The Professional Services team manage a range of administrative functions. The iCentre is the communications hub of our organisation, and staff are responsible for a range of activities, including fielding inquiries from a range of stakeholders, and signposting students to relevant services. Our iCentre staff also assist with a range of administrative duties including, but not limited to, support for our internal events, maintaining records and management of data.

 

iCentre staff will be required to manage a wide spectrum of information across various digital platforms. Therefore, candidates will have a high standard of English literacy and computer literacy, and will be adept at the use of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Onedrive, and Sharepoint.

 

Professional Services staff are also trained in the other major departmental functions such as Learning Resources, Registry, Admissions, Events, and Director of Studies. In due course, staff with a particular aptitude can specialise in these areas. As we are a growing organisation, there will be opportunity for progression for those with the qualifications, skills, diligence, and motivation to do so.

 

Duties require daily physical attendance at our building at Manchester Science Park.

 

During trimester, the operational tempo is high, so a calm, organised manner is essential, and being able to empathise with students who may be struggling with a range of anxieties is a key competency. Successful candidates will have a relevant degree. Previous experience of similar work would be advantageous, but is not essential as staff will receive detailed induction and training. part of a team to help UGM Manchester students with funding, loans, grants, budgeting, and managing money worries. You will advise on extra financial help and assist with funding issues. The post holder will have responsibility for accurately confirming student engagement to our partner and the Student Loans Company.
