We are dedicated to ensuring students have all the support and opportunities they need here at the University of Bolton Manchester to succeed. This includes several student services, from our Wellbeing Team to our Student Union.

We aim to enhance students’ academic, professional and personal development during their time here at UoBM. As our approach to learning is teaching intensive, and research-informed we understand that students need a highly engaged and interactive student experience. This goes beyond our academics and feeds into our view of pastoral care for students too.

Your learning

Our commitment and focus on academic quality, delivered by our experienced academics, will ensure you enjoy an excellent and rigorous learning experience. At UoBM, we offer a range of Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees, specialising in Business, Tourism and Healthcare, all delivered alongside our Employability Scheme to ensure that you graduate with an excellent degree and the employability skills to achieve your full potential.

The University has adopted a blended delivery approach, whereby campus-based teaching sessions are supported by online activities, it allows for full flexibility while ensuring students can fully engage with their learning. Students will be given a catered timetable and Module Guides to determine the mode of delivery for a specific week.

Pastoral Support

We offer a wide range of support to help students get maximum value and support during their degrees. Tutors and Peer mentoring programmes ensure students feel encouraged and supported in every aspect of their experience at UoBM. Our full range of Pastoral Support includes:

Tutors

Module Tutor

These tutors organise our courses here at UoB Manchester. Students can go to Module Tutors for any academic issues they face on a specific module.

Personal Development Tutor

UoBM students are allocated Personal Development Tutors (PDT) during welcome week. PDTs remain the same throughout students' studies to encourage a close bond with their assigned tutors. Our PDTs are there to signpost and give advice to tutees with any challenges they may face, whether academic or non-academic.
